Andy joined Defaqto in May 2011 as Insight Analyst for Wealth Management. His brief includes pensions, SIPPs, drawdown and annuities.
Andy’s key responsibilities include reviewing, developing and producing wealth management-related Star Ratings, authoring publications and commentary on key issues within the sector, producing bespoke case studies and research for providers and intermediaries, representing Defaqto at industry forums and events, and acting as a media spokesperson for Defaqto.
He spent almost 12 years at Suffolk Life, a specialist SIPP provider. His roles covered a broad spectrum of areas, including SIPP and drawdown administration, sales, technical, marketing, product and proposition development and market research. Andy worked on the preparation for pensions simplification and worked on three major product launches, respectively enabling the self-investment of protected rights, introducing a high degree of online functionality and a multi-platform SIPP. He also wrote a number of articles for the trade press covering various pension changes, regulation and market developments.
Andy is a keen networker, blogger and forum participant, and was Suffolk Life’s main member contact for the Investment and Life Assurance Group’s (ILAG).
He holds a B.Sc.(Hons) in Business Studies from University of Bradford, as well as FPC 1, 2, 3 and CF9 (Pensions Simplification).
