May 2019 CPD Accredited Roadshow - Income in Retirement

Half day CPD seminar

2 May Stirling, 14-17 May Bristol, Mere Knutsford, Solihull, Tankersley

The 2019 Defaqto CPD Income in Retirement Roadshow will focus on key financial planning and retirement income issues.

Increased longevity drives your clients' expectations for their income in retirement. How they decide to draw their income without considering their particular circumstances can have a significant impact on their retirement pot, and thus threatening their capability to generate desired income.

We have assembled specialists from M&G Investments, Miton, Parmenion and Schroders Cazenove plus our own Defaqto team to provide you with a varied insight into the retirement income market.  After giving you a short overview of the current retirement income market, we will look at its evolving trends and how centralised investment propositions (CIP’s) are developing into centralised retirement propositions (CRP’s) alongside Product Intervention and Product Governance Sourcebook (Prod) regulation. We will also cover the importance of factoring life expectancy trends into client profiling and segmentation, and the impact on investment planning periods that these trends imply.

Other areas we will consider are the key market indicators and trends in the major global markets, and the implications of these for income generation in 2019 and beyond. Finally, in response to adviser demand, we  take a look at the rapidly developing area of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) investing.

    M&G Investments

At M&G, our purpose is clear: We want to help you, and your clients, to prosper by putting your investments to work.

Investing well for our customers demands a responsible, active and long-term approach. We look for the best opportunities to invest, across a wide range of assets for people who care how their money is invested.

Currently M&G look after over 244,000* investors and have more than £265 billion** funds under management.

M&G believes that to lead the market, not to follow it, requires creative thinking, acting with conviction and working collaboratively. This combination of vision, expertise, and insight is what makes us different.

The value of the fund's assets will go down as well as up. This will cause the value of your investment to fall as well as rise and you may get back less than you originally invested.

    Miton Asset Management

We are a UK fund management group that believes in the value of genuinely active management. We offer high conviction, actively managed equity strategies that seek to deliver strong long-term investment performance. We offer multi-asset strategies that seek to deliver a predictable outcome.

Our fund managers have the scope to perform on an unconstrained basis and follow strong investment processes. They invest in companies’ shares or bonds, that in their judgement have the ability to deliver returns rather than benchmark weightings.

We are independently minded and seek to offer funds and strategies that very deliberately set out to be different from many of those our competitors offer. We believe this differentiation and focus on a wider range of opportunities provides our fund managers with the flexibility to add more value for investors and to manage risk effectively.

The asset management industry is facing a time of unparalleled challenges, particularly in its ability to deliver value to its underlying clients. It is our belief that genuinely active management can make a real difference to investment returns.
