Planning for income in retirement

Half day CPD seminar

24 April , 1-4 May 2018. Stirling, Cardiff, Solihull, Barnsley and Knutsford

The financial planning of income in retirement has been one of the most important changes over the last 10 years for advisers. It has changed from a single event to an ongoing retirement lifestyle, with a wider range of options for generating income post Pension Freedoms.

The skill of the professional adviser in a clients’ retirement phase is being able to demonstrate value for money through accurate assessment of income source, the individual's risk profile and the need for access, control and timing of the income. Given the many options your clients have, the role of the adviser in putting the retirement jigsaw pieces together is even more important – gone are the days when the only choice was an annuity.

We have assembled four leading investment professionals from Miton Asset Management, Old Mutual Global Investors, Parmenion, and Royal London Asset Management to focus on key financial planning and retirement income issues.  They will present and discuss various retirement solutions that could add value to your client's income needs.

Defaqto will also demonstrate the tools and support, provided in Engage, that can help deliver compliant, evidence based information, all in one place that can only enhance efficiency and increase the effectiveness of the advice process.

    Miton Asset Management

We are a UK fund management group that believes in the value of genuinely active management. We offer high conviction, actively managed equity strategies that seek to deliver strong long-term investment performance. We offer multi-asset strategies that seek to deliver a predictable outcome. At 15/03/2018, group AuM totalled  £4,057m.

Our fund managers have the scope to perform on an unconstrained basis and follow strong investment processes. They invest in companies’ shares or bonds, that in their judgement have the ability to deliver returns rather than benchmark weightings.

We are independently minded and seek to offer funds and strategies that very deliberately set out to be different from many of those our competitors offer. We believe this differentiation and focus on a wider range of opportunities provides our fund managers with the flexibility to add more value for investors and to manage risk effectively.

The asset management industry is facing a time of unparalleled challenges, particularly in its ability to deliver value to its underlying clients. It is our belief that genuinely active management can make a real difference to investment returns.
